You chose the option: "Yes":
The basic requirement to being ready is to have received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and saviour. In effect, you have chosen to become a disciple of Christ. Discipleship entails a life of obedience to the will of God, "ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price" - the life of Christ on the cross. To be ready means, ready for heaven at any time, all the time. It means a life of commitment and sacrifice. A life that is totally surrendered to God. A life that says, "not my will but your will oh God." To love God with all your heart, soul and strength. A life that fulfills the purposes of God... that's how you are to be ready.
2 Corinthians 13:5 – “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test?”
Matthew 22:37-39 - “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
